Kavya Veerasekaran

Founder & Accredited Practicing Dietitian

Hello and welcome, my friend!

I’m Kavya, a Dietitian living and servicing beautiful Busselton and surrounds. Since completing my Masters in Dietetics in 2021, I’ve spent my entire career living and working in different country towns — from Katanning, Albany, Manjimup to Bridgetown and now enjoying a sea change in beautiful Busselton. Working across these rural communities is exactly where I saw firsthand how underserved women's health and fertility care can be outside the cities

Growing up in one of India’s busy cities (Chennai), I never imagined how much I would come to love country life. The slower pace, the sense of community, the fresh produce, the clean air - it truly feels special. Most of all, I’ve been continually inspired by the kindness and warmth of the people I’ve met along the way.

And my love for country life and people was the reason I started my specialised women’s health practice - to bring high quality care closer to home.

My Hobbies

Running

Outside of work, I'm an avid runner. I've completed several races ranging from 10 km to 21.1 km (gotta include the 0.1 km!), and I'm now training for my first full marathon — 42.2 km. I love the joy of running and the satisfaction afterwards is incomparable. My love for running has only grown since moving to beautiful Busselton, with all its stunning coastal runs.

Reading

I also love reading, although I probably own way more books than I'll ever get through. There's real joy in slowing down and getting lost in a novel, or in the self-reflection that comes from a good philosophy or non-fiction read.

I love talking to my clients about their favourite books and hearing their recommendations — I'd love to hear yours too!

Cooking

I have a mixed relationship with cooking, which is actually how I practice as well. I'm not someone who pushes elaborate recipes if they don't suit you or your lifestyle - sometimes a simple, nutritious meal is exactly what a person needs!

But then I go through phases of heavy experimentation in the kitchen. My latest favourites are homemade granola, silken tofu (more protein, calcium and iron - yes please!), and a tempeh stir fry (the trick is to shallow fry the tempeh so it's nice and crispy on all sides - a total game changer!).
